Cultural pride, racism, discrimination... How do we bridge the gap between other...

...cultures and be understanding? I have a difficult question to ask and i hope i can word it right for you all to understand and hopefull help...

Im currently studying the play the 7 stages of grieving and i have a question to answer about how i bridged the gap between my culture (australian/convict no particular heritage?) to that of the actress (aboriginal).

i came up with ideas of cultural pride but unsure if this could merge with racism (bad)

Sorry for the difficult question but in summary i guess i want to ask about how i can relate to other cultures different from my own but still having pride in my own heritage?

just always study other cultures. by doing so it will make you aware of what is around you. being proud of your culture is something that should come naturally with it. just always identify who you truly are when asked and have knowledge about your heritage. that is a good way to show pride.

We cant butttt u all can answers my question. pretty prty plsss

By showing your character in the play to be a confident person. Confidence comes from belief in oneself. This in turn comes from pride in who we are. And we are where we come from.
By assimilating in the new culture, you bridge the gap. This should be baby steps - for instance participating in a little ceremony, Finding common grounds (such as human emotions which are universal ) help to relate to a new culture.

Good luck with the project.
