Cuban coffee to cause stomach cramps??

I'm 43, male, lived in Italy until 28, spent 13 years in DC and NEVER had issues with stomach pains. Lucky enough I never get headaches either! I generally feel great.
Three years ago I moved to miami and since then I started getting these seemingly untraceable, horrendous stomach cramps, at the top of my stomach. They just take my breath away for hours and mostly at night. I have no heartburn or acid at all. I carefully track what I eat so I know what I've had before the cramps start. Once the pain is gone I have soreness in my stomach/muscles just like when you do an exhausting abs exercise!
After months of inability to find a pain killer going through all kinds of remedies/medicines I decided ( in desperation ) to try DayQuil. A heavy shot of it stops the pain in matter of minutes. Niquil doesn't work. Weird uh?
The only common substance / factor is Cuban Coffe. Since I moved to Miami I ran out of my Italian stash of imported coffee so I had to switch to the locally produced Pilon, La Llave, Bustelo. I know it may seem absurd that this coffee could be the problem but yesterday, after my regular coffee in the AM and one heavy shot in the afternoon, I got home feeling the pain coming and as soon as it became strong I blocked it with Niquil.
I usually have a light espresso in the AM and a light one after lunch. That's the most I take.

Any1 else with this problem?

Secondary possible causes by tracking what I eat:
Extra virgin Olive Oil?
Onion / Garlic?
Lattuce with balsamic vinegar, oil, salt?
Eggs?

hey, i have been having similar problems, i woke one night with severe pain in my side that spread to my stomach, the pain was like a cramp feeling and after the pain was gone the whole of my abdomin felt sore like i had been working out. I have been to the doctors about it, they thought it was IBS, then they thought an ulcer and i am going back tomorrow as i had the same pain today but on the other side and also spreading to my stomach...i have no idea what it is at all.. I drank a lot of strong coffee but have cut that out and after reading what you said i also eat a lot of extra virgin olive oil in my foods but i have also not had that for a week and i still have the pains in stomach......if anyone does have an idea what it is iy would be cool to know.

Hi. Mi pain is very concentrated and it's at the top of the stomach but who knows...
I'll be curious to see what your doc says.
Thanks

well now that it is on the other side of my stomach the doctor has no idea what it is, he is sending me to the hospital for an xray or scan but my practitioner is not very good they have not even done blood tests or allergy tests after 3 weeks of this pain...and many people have said it could be a kidney infection which would be picked up by a blood test...i think i need a new GP...maybe one day i find out what it is :)
