Cry rape - go to jail for as long as a rapist?

Do you agree that if someone lies about rape, that they should face a similar jail term as they had tried to secure for the defendant?

Not only is it an insult to real rape victims, a waste of police time, and perverting the course of justice, but to make calculated attempts to tarnish someone with a serious criminal record, and have them imprisoned for several years, is a very serious offence in my view.
 
it should be illegal lying about anyone doing you harm an causing the justice system to react wasting the police the qourt and everyone elses time
 
That would be interesting.I agree that they should receive a jail sentence. Here in Virginia it is a Class 1 Misdemeanor which you could receive a one year jail term.

Restitution would be nice for agencies that had wasted time on a false investigation.
