Cry Baby...

Hey, Ive heard a lot about the film 'Cry Baby,' and was just wondering if any of you guys had seen it? And if so...what did you think of it?
Oh- and is it still available on video/DVD anywhere at all?

It was the second of John Waters more mainstream films, the first being Hairspray. If you liked Hairspray you will probably like this.

cry baby is great fun but i love most john waters films so i would think that-plus the soundtrack is excellent

I find John Waters to be overrated.

Even his accessible films are cheesy. I guess it's OK if you think fat transvestites are funny.

As for Cry Baby, it's fine if you like that retro 1950's campery (like Hairspray).

This film is AMAZING!! It kinda rips the pee out of Grease. Its funny, and the tunes are really catchy, and I feel this is Johnny Depps greatest film. Chat show host Ricki Lake is in it too.

Moot point but the first of his 'accessible' ie 'studio' films was 1981's Polyester. Having rude bits in doesn't automatically = 'inaccessible' or 'cult'; else what would his work Serial Mom onwarRAB be classed as?

I love this film, Johnny depp is amazing as cry baby. Theirs great music in it and some great jokes/funny moments. Yes its cheesey but i think thats the point - not too serious. Its one of my fave films.

Cry Baby is a great film, but then again I'm pretty biased as I'm a huge John Waters fan.
