Cry Baby, Cry Ba-by!!

What do you think were some of the remembered and worst crying jags in cartoons?

Case in point: white haired big nosed bimbo Polly Purebred in Underdog's Zot.
Tara Belle & Bianca Dupree in The Beverly Hills Teens.
Jane Jetson in The Jetsons' Miss Solar System
Wilma Flintsone & Betty Rubble in The Flintstones.
Baby Bear in Looney Tunes, The Three Bears.

Although Princess Glissando in the same episode was the bigger drama queen. She'd go on a crying jag every time her father's soldiers returned, defeated by the object of her affections, "That dog of an Underdog!" :anime:

When Numbuh 3 cries, it gushes out like waterfalls. Though several years earleir, Binky the Clown from Garfield cried once, and it flooded an office. I thought that was funny.
Misty from Pokemon did it too. I thought it was funny to see everyone's reaction to it.

But Spongebob and friends, take the cake. I never knew there could be so many visual gags when it comes to crying.

It's times like this I wish "Mystery Science Theater 3000" was an animated show, since none of these come close to topping Tom Servo's hysterical breakdown while dressed as Barbara Streisand in episode 610 "The Violent Years". Every time you think it's over, it suddenly becomes even crazier.

I think my favorite animated example is probably Sylvester's breakdown in "Birds Anonymous" (1957). It's equal parts funny and tragic, and it's due in large part to Mel Blanc's brilliant performance ("I can't stand it! I gotta have a bird! I'm weak! I'm weak! But I don't care! I can't help it! After all, I am a pussycat!"). It's not as crazy as some other examples in this thread, but it's one of my favorite sequences in Looney Tunes history.

I will agree, Usagi/Serena from Sailor Moon is one of the most prone to tears, in both comical and dramatic scenes. In the first episode, her crying was amplified (inexplicably) by the decorations in her hair, to the point of shaking a whole room and causing the Monster du Jour to tell her to "Stop that hideous crying!" (at least in English). But she also has had some truly moving instances of tears, especially when her friends are hurt or in trouble.

They're certainly not BAD crying gags...in fact, the crying gags from Spongebob are quite hilarious. They've done those gags at least five or six times in the series, and they're pretty much always funny. I'm quite fond of Spongebob's "water sprinkler" crying.

So am I. It is also funny when Spongebob is on the ground crying and he swells up full of tears and lets them out and shrinks and then repeats the process.

Kid Muscle. Not only does he cry, but he wets himself most of the time too. Just like his father.

Not to mention Peter Griffin's new found curling up in the fetal position and crying exactly like a baby.
