What does cross processing mean in the digital world?

I know about film, but I am not familiar with this concept for digital images.

Well, it's really means attempting to create a similar effect to cross processing with film. You just adjust the colour curves and add a translucent coloured layer over the image which creates the high contrast and wild colours of a traditional cross processed image. Ok, maybe I simplified the process abit, but that's basically what it is.
