Cropping in Photoshop?

When I set the size image I want in Photoshop, and then I use the crop tool, I don't know how I know when I have that size...it seems like the crop tool will let me make it any size. Feel dumb about this but it is confusing to me. Thanks for your help.

At the bottom of the file window in Photoshop, right beside the horizontal scrollbar, there is a little arrow pointing to the right. Click on it, select Show in the menu, and click on Document Dimensions. This should show you the size of the document.

Wouldnt it be better to actually crop the photo first to what you want to keep in it, by clicking on the crop tool, drawing your frame and double clicking and then you can go up to Image, Image Size and insert the size you want. No room for error then.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but once you've selected the size you want with the crop tool, you can go to 'image' at the top of the screen, and select 'crop'
I think. It might be under 'edit' though.

:-)
