Sigh. I dunno. As with anything, I'll have to see The Cleveland Show before I judge it, like anything else, but the identical art/animation style is REALLY not helping. You almost wonder if Seth is capable of anything OTHER than this style, or if he just doesn't care and doesn't think the audience will either. It's wearing a little thin.
I don't quite consider Seth a hack (if his shows have gotten me to laugh hard on numerous occasions, that's gotta count for something), but if The Cleveland Show ends up having virtually identical writing/joke-telling formats as Family Guy except with different characters, it will be much easier to make that claim, as the very definition of a "hack" (according to dictionary.com) is someone who produces dull, unimaginative, or trite work. It will show that while this format may be popular with some audiences and that's why he keeps going that route, he's unwilling or unable to try something new.
