Crickets RAZR V3C Messaging Menu periodically stops working, why?

Hello,

My friend is on her 4th v3c from cricket due to a problem with the Messaging menu on the phone, it works sometimes, and a while later it stops.

Description:

When going into Main Menu, and selecting/opening the 'Messages' menu, the keypad stops working (with that, you cannot navigate to the inbox/compose msgs/etc to all messaging related features)
However once out of that menu (by closing and opening phone) everything else works (including keypad) just fine.
A few weeks later the Messaging menu begins to work again, then later the same thing happens where it doesn't

Is this firmware related and if so where can I obtain a fix for this?

my friend had a similar problem it was because it got locked up try to send when reciving it just a slip up in the firmware

Do you think maybe a reset or hard reset would make any difference?

Or is there any fix for this?

i think you need to reset the messaging box via motorola PST. if that doesn't work then re-flash the firmware completely. in my experience master clear/reset do not fix problems with the messaging.
