Cricket's New Family Plan

I don't know if anyone posted this already, so if someone did, I'm sorry.

But Cricket has announced it's new family plan. To have it, you must have a total of 3 to 5 phone lines on your account. Each line will cost $33 per month plus tax. The plan includes the following features:

Unlimited Local Calling
Unlimited Long Distance
Unlimited Mobile Web
Unlimited Text and Picture Messaging
Voice Mail
Call Waiting
3 Way Calling

You basicly get the $45 plan for only $33 a month. :goodness:

And you can still bolt on features like the extended roaming area and international calling. Current customers will have to pay a migration fee of $15 per line, but the savings after the first month is $12, making it a great option for many.

Yes this is a way better family plan than their other one.

The only thing I don't like about it is that at this current moment they're not allowing flashed phones to be used with the family plan.

use if you have a lot of lines you can move all your lines over to the new plan, im doing that with a lot of my peeps that have the so called old family plans on cricket, and you can start them with used phones, also keep in mind its been to start it a day befor there bill is due that way theres no funky prorations etc.

Yeah that is what my rep told me to, is that flashed hanRABets will not work with it. Has anyone confirmed that this is true? I am going to try and migrate my three lines over and they are all flashed hanRABets, so I will post the outcome.

1) the plan is different in different markets. the plan described in this thread is for aggressive markets.
the family plan for most markets does not include messaging or mobile web
2a) flashed phones are eligible
2b) regarding flashed phones, and this applies to the problems we have been having activating sms on flashed phones. cricket is now removing any feature code that includes mms from being available to nbc (flashed hanRABets) since it cannot verify that the phone is compatible with mms CID does not allow the feature to be added (just like roaming and WAP) the sms and mms used to be seperate feature codes so the sms would be added but not the mms, but now the sms and mms features are corabined into one code, so when it refuses to add mms the sms is also prevented from being added. this is switch side not billing side. anyone with HO access (customer care ONLY) should be able to re add the features for you, but that is assuming you can get hold of someone that is not a total idiot... hopefully cricket will soon realize the error of their ways and lift this restriction...

I tried doing the migration thing in CID and it seemed like it was going to be easy , then it gave me problems with the hex matching the meid and stuff. Finally it just locked up on me..........lol

umm the last communication i got said that migration does not work yet and accounts must be disconnected and re activated by someone that can pull the old mdns back onto the account..

I see. Yeah it didn't work for me, hell I am frienRAB with a few of the corporate store managers and they asked me if I had the email on it when I called to ask them about it....LOL. What area are you in simple3?

well my understanding is that neither CID-ISR or CID-RSR is functionable right now with this... does your corporte friend know how his reps are able to change accounts to the new family plan?

Not sure but I will ask. I am not even sure if they have done it yet so you are probably right in saying that it is not possible to migrate them yet. I am pretty sure if they are new activations that you can start them on it though. I will let you know what he says. What market are you in?

So just to be clear, I understand that cricKet offers different plans in different markets, but what plan is it exactly that is included with this family plan for $33 each line? Is it the $45 plan like the OP said or another? I was told that it is the $35 plan, which wouldn't make it that great of a deal.

well lets say you get three frienRAB together to get on the family plan then if one of them turns out to be a deadbeat will it effect the other's lines and cause their service to be suspended even if they pay their portion of the 99 per month?

that is correct.. if one person does not pay all three lines get suspended. also if you wish to cancel one of the lines you would have to pick a normal rate plan because you need to have three lines minimun to take advantage of the deal.
