corp stores and some premier dealers are going to be using houdini to flash phones. its going to be called cricketflash, expected date for this is supposed to be 4/1/10. its going to cost 20 per flash and cust will have to sign a waiver as well to get it done. saw the sku in cid the other day.

I would hope most premiere dealers are already flashing, if not they are losing out. As far as houdinisoft I looked into it, and it seems like a real waste of money. Don't think this will really effect us, due to houdinisoft not being able to do full flashes, and cricket corp is way behind the game when it comes to troubleshooting flashed phones.

interesting.. just went onto their website, they have a pretty big list of phones, but like jgalaz1 says i dont think they can do full flashes, and it would probably be too much of a PITA to troubleshoot phones that do not work.

I'm willing to bet that waiver covers just that. You sign that if you have issues, Cricket will not troubleshoot or be responsible, blah blah blah.

It makes me think that they all watch all the forums and such to see what people are doing flashing hacking etc. HI CRICKET! lol I bet they will go with a program that can do full flashes as well because crickets GREEDY

So basically what cricket is doing is that its going to take business from dealers, $20 a CricketFlash or a dealer talk text flash for $35? Looks like we are gonna see alot of $10 and $15 flashing. This going to hit flashers who do nothing but flash for dealers.

This is all coming about due to the Joint Venture with Pocket. Unless Cricket forces Houdini to add ESN's to Cricket's database, you won't see the $10 and $15 flashes and even if you do, they'll only be basic. People are still going to want pics and web.

The waiver will be similar to one Pocket uses here in Texas stating that:
1) Flashing your phone may cause damage to your phone
2) Internet, Picture Messaging and Text Messaging are not guaranteed.
3) You hereby authorize the dealer to attempt a flash and will not whine and moan if the phone is damaged in the process.

Metro has it, Pocket has it...Now Cricket has it...Houdini is just a piece of the puzzle when it comes to uniting Cricket and Metro. Do be weary that Houdini will be mandatory as it is on Pocket.

PS: K132's as Signal testers is sooooo stupid lol.

I only do maybe 1 Talk/Txt flash a week....its not going to hurt anyones buisness....Like stated above people want the Data Flashes...

my buddy in fresno said that corp an premier where getting houdini, they metion it to him at a premier store meeting. now in my area ive been asking arround an no one here can comfirm. either way alot of us that do this for a living should be in the clear since houdini can only do so much. also corp will get the flashes for free an premier will have to pay their standard charge for flash. but like i said this was toll me only.

and from what i understand (in Ohio/Indiana area we have more revol then cricket and revol uses Houdinisoft) on a regular flip or bar phone theirs almost no chance of bricking ur phone but if you have a windows mobile phone or a pocket pc or droid it becomes a 50/50 chance or even worst odRAB that ull brick ur phone.

Maybe I get hung up on the word "flashing" as i've put a few phones on cricket (windows mobile phones) and all it entailed was loading a cricket PRL and letting the phones program OTA. Its not like I did a firmware update or something. What does this software do exactly that is so volatile?

So long as this thing isn't going to cause it to be more difficult to get ESNs into Cricket's database, everyone's going to be aiighthttt.

Cricket knows whats up. All it will do is take maybe a flash or two from our pockets. But knowing our customers, they will come find us to do the full flash or even program the damn phone correctly. I am not worried about it, if you are, guess your just a lil fish then huh?

well if you guys get forced in to using houdini or whatever there gonna call it u have to trick houdini to do treos using a zeroed out palm and choosing ut starcom 7025q as ur phone model.now bb thats a different thing houdini wont even see a bb.....as far as cricket taking a few flashes from ur pocket.. i've spent almost $15,000 in the last year and a half thats a boat load of flashes

hope they dont force you to use "there" system to load esn's in database cause that will really suck it did for me!

The business isn't going to die. Houdinisoft sucks compared to something like CDMA Workshop. Plus it does just very basic flashes.

Ya people will turn their heaRAB when they find out that their phone wont have pic msging and web...flashing been out for to long people didnt mind when flashing first started that their phone couldnt do pix and web cause they just wanted to use a different carriers phone normally so people didnt know they were using cricket lol but now if a phone cant pix and web some people will just give their phone to you its weird.
