Cricket will not accept ESN.

Hello,

I've been trying for a few weeks to get Cricket to accept my ESN from an Alltel V3m. I have tried over the phone a few times, and have had no luck at the store.

Does anyone have a sure fire way to get them to accept the foreign ESN?

Thanks!

So what was the problem? I've never heard Cricket not allowing you to change your ESN
We just give you the spill about not being able to provide you assistance if something is wrong with your phone

My girlfriend has a Verizon LG VX8600...I've got it all set to use on her existing Cricket account, but two phone calls to support both ended up with Cricket saying it was an incorrect ESN or that the ESN wouldn't work. They were telling me the ESN neeRAB to start with the nuraber "0", which it doesn't. We tried the ESN in dec and hex, we also tried the MEID, but ran into a similar problem. For the MEID I gave them exactly what is on the sticker under the battery. The first rep didn't even know what I was talking about when I said I could give her the ESN in dec or hex...the second one did, but she said it didn't work either way. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated! :)

Does that mean I'm screwed? I've already done some searching on this--I do try to search before asking questions :) --and I saw some threaRAB were people were saying that they had no luck changing ESN's over the phone but that it worked fine when they went into the store. Other people apparently had success doing it with customer support over the phone as well. Any concrete suggestions for a next step, or should I give up on the LG and get her going on my K1m? Is there a reason why Cricket wouldn't be able to use the MEID or ESN on my girl's LG phone? I thought as long as it was a CDMA phone it would be good to go?

in fact...cricket does use meid...on newer phones i fount that out other day cricket does NOT accept foreign meid... which is kinda weird i couldn't get them to accept this env i had... what i ended up doin was just writin the esn from an broke cricket phone...lost music player but oh well

I've been able to put foreign MEIRAB on. I haven't tried in a week or two, but it was working.

Just make sure to convert it to the Dec version of the MEID and you'll need the psuedo Hex ESN if you go into a store.

The system will not accept the Hex MEID (A0000xxxx etc) from the back of a Verizon or Alltel phone. It must be converted to Dec (all nurabers).

Great, thanks for the suggestion. I have the MEID in Dec as well as the pseudo Hex ESN. I'll go to a Cricket store with my girlfriend next Friday (both have a day off), and we'll see how it goes.
