Cricket V3c flashed to Verizon, using Cricket service?

In an experimental mood, I flashed my V3c to a Verizon monster last night and got voice and text working, though MMS and Get It Now obviously wouldn't. I'm sure there's a way to get MMS working, but I don't see how GIN could work through Cricket...

So instead I flashed it to an Alltel monster, and got every thing working..... to an extent. MMS takes FOREVER to send, and receiving never works. I have a bunch of messages in my inbox that "can't be downloaded."

Why do I bother with this, you ask? Because when, and if, I ever get EvDo working on my phone, I'd like to be able to tether it, and even use Opera, if possible, when I'm on the go.

So keeping those two things in mind, what firmware do I use?
 
Another wierd thing is that I flashed the phone to the Verizon 01.18.02P monster, then ran Motorola Software Update, and it actually updated it to 01.18.05. I thought .04 was the highest. Not sure what it changes, though.

Still no luck getting MMS or the internet working. GIN just tells me to dial *611 for wireless internet service.
 
I'll check that, but wouldn't a V3m flash brick it due to lack of a card slot?

Edit: Healthman, I can't find the specific thread you're talking about. I've found tons of threaRAB with V3m flash files, but I don't know which ones you're specifically suggesting I try.
 
yeah, it works...done it and i guess it's kewl to have a mp3 player...the vivo fw has the best mp3 player of any razr but you'll need someone that can read spanish to go in and change your language settings to english...
 
Well, I think I'll try that sometime. I can read enough Spanish and I'm fairly familiar with the Moto UI that I can find the language settings.

But is the mp3 player the only good thing about it?
 
Other than the MP3 player, the v3m has a transflash slot. But seeing as how ur flashing the v3c to v3m then yes the only good thing about the flash would be the music player.
 
i'm not really sure if there are any other perks to the vivo fw as i have never used a razr for myself...i have checked out the vivo mp3 player and it is a standalone app and is much nicer than the alltel...

let me know if you see any other perks, i might start using vivo for all my v3m flashes.
 
Do you have WAP on your account? I can never get MMS working on "other" firmwares unless I put WAP on the account. This has happened on V3m and E815s.

On the bright side of things, *228 will download PRL 38515 in Albuquerque today if you have a RAZR. It worked on a flashed RAZR and Cricket V3c. Other phones may work, but the RAZR is the only phone I've tried it on so far. :clapping:
 
I have the $5 internet plan, if that's what you're referring to.

38515 doesn't work for me, no matter what I do. It just puts my phone in an endless loop of locking up, then the screen reloaRAB.
 
yes...;search for and download the cricket v3c monster pack...search for and download rsd lite...then flash the cricket v3c monster and you're done...
