Is it possible on Cricket's new Tri-Band phones & network? (CDMA 1700)

If so, are all the phones capable of doing it or is there a better phone?

Its between the Samsung Messager, Samsung JetSet, and Motorola RAZR V3s

the jetset (r550) for sure...its the only triband 3g/evdo hanRABet

it's pretty easy to tether, i do it all the time

menu, settings, #, 333333, dun, enable, power cycle

on your computer create a dial up networking connection
phone nuraber to dial #777
user name is [email protected] (use your phone nuraber, not 9's)
password is "cricket" without the ""
set the browser proxy to be wap.mycricket.com port 8080

pm me if you need help, but i'll warn ya, any other triband heaRABet except the jetset will be dialup speed :)

Cool, another reason to get the JetSet instead of the Messenger (I'm trying to decide between the 2 since I have to get a tri-band phone).

exactly what he said, those same instructions work for the R450 messenger, and definetly get the jetset over the messenger if you plan on doing a lot of tethering.

Sorry if I hijacked your thread, but I dont know where to else to ask. Can anyone walk me through putting games on this phone. or what thread I should be posting on.

Learning something new about CDMA every day (never really had CDMA before)

So the R550 is the ONLY high speed data phone cricket offers in triband areas? Just because a phone has CDMA1700 doesnt mean its high speed... interesting.

Has the jetset been discontinued? They dont have it on mycricket.com for my zip anymore.

"We're sorry.

Yet it is on the homepage of mycricket > phones

no it's the thin flat proprietary samsung cable I checked one out at a phone store. I would like to wait until the upgrage this phone to a micro usb cable because I only want to have one type of tethering cable and all my cables and chargers to be standardized

wat are the speeRAB that u guys get en tethering the jetset. i tethered mine but it was very slow. o wat is the power cycle thing. and is there anything else that i shul do to boost the speed that might help or that u have done from experience thanks

there are three cables from samsung in the recent era. this one uses the same cable as the m300 and several other samsungs. blame samsung not cricket. Several companies are commited to using micro usb in the future tho which should alleviate this problem.

so if your going to do alot of tethering the jetset is the best. or what other phone works very well with tethering and gets the best down and up speed.
