I talked to some corporate reps today at a Cricket location...
for starters they were shocked that I knew anything about the MotoQ or Treo possibly coming to Cricket, then I told them where I was getting my info (Howardforums.com of course!) and they were like, "wow, they know alot there..."


But what I found out was interesting...

EVDO, should be up and working mid-Feb.
As far as MotoQ or Treo...those are No's....he said that Cricket is having a problem negotiating with some companies due to the "unlimited everything" thing...so, what Cricket is going to do is they are making their own smartphone to compensate. Which will be something new and be able to have unlimited everything without alot of new fee's...like from streaming and stuff. Basic browsing will still be 5.00, but unlimited data he said might be a little more, but not alot. That's all i got. Word.

So what your saying is that cricket had no trouble negotiating with motorola and audiovox for the other phones unlimited use, but smartphones are different? Right :rolleyes:

Please explain how offering unlimited evrything on a smartphone would somehow hamper negotiations. Do you really think Motorola is holding back saying "whoa now we cant have unlimited on our Q, that just wouldnt be right", when they seem to have no problem with the 341,343,e310,v262,v265,razr,slvr and krzr. Please explain.

That is one of the durabest things I have heard this year. And then you say cricket is gonna make their own smartphone? That IS the durabest thing. Cricket doesnt make phones, and if they decided to start, the first try would not be a smart phone. And besides CRICKET DOESNT MAKE PHONES!!!!

Wow i came on the forum today looking to get a verizon phone unlocked so i can use on the cricket service but this info is great i have the slider remix and im pretty tired of it and im looking to get a phone with a bigger screen so movies, music and basic browsing will be at least half way decent, my last phone was a smartphone through cingular and i cant wait to get another one. This is great news
 
Hey, I never said...I said this...the cricket Corp reps told me that, so you believe what you want...i have no clue, what they are doing and negotiations...i just asked about the Q and he went off rarabling...so go take your speech and shove it.
 
you obviously believed it or you wouldnt have posted it here. If you though it was bs, why didn't you call the rep on it? Ask him some serious questions?

so what if i believed him or not u ***, i just posted it cause it was very interesting...not saying "oh this-or-that"....I dont care if u are a cricket employee or if u hurab sheep for a living.

For what's worth I wasn't saying that you were stupid. I was commenting on the stupidity of what you posted. The stuff this rep told you was stupid. Aside from the evdo stuff which is true. The time frame might be a bit off, but it's close.

I was amazed and a trifle disappointed that you seemed so excited about the prospect of cricket making their own smartphone. I would suspect most people would realize the ridiculousness of that idea, since cricket is a service provider not a manufacturer of phones.

Again I was not attacking you, just the info you provided. I wouldnt have posted something that impossible and would have called bs on the rep there, but that's me. Sorry to get you all worked up
