Cricket no longer changing ESN over phone

Nope, not a dealer. Just a customer that called 611. I spoke to 3 different reps and they all told me the same thing so I went to the store to have it changed.

Yes, i am giving them the "new account card" but they don't keep up with it. The forget what it is and end up trashing it.

That doesn't change the fact the CID should allow us to search via name too....

Shorty

Well I called the other day. Customer service put the ESN on my acct and then she transferred me to tech support. Tech support wouldn't program over the phone and told me to go to a store. So I guess it all depenRAB on who u talk to on the phone to get ur ESN on the acct.

I called the dealer line eariler today for an esn change. I put the wrong esn on a new account and was told that they can no longer do esn changes over the phone. The Cricket system wouldn't let me do the esn change because it was a flashed phone. It would only let me do an esn change to a Cricket phone. But after an hour, the system let me do an esn change and everything is okay.

I believe they can do an ESN change if CID goes down or your system crashes and you can't do it yourself. Otherwise they'll tell you to have the customer dial *611 and talk to tech support to do an ESN change.

I think we can still make money, because the stores here charge $35 for basic, and $50 for a full flash, over the phone or in store, the customer still have to pay $15 for activation, right?

Is anyone else having a problem with the new system where on certain accounts it won't let you add a flashed phone? I checked an ESN for a customer and the system will allow me to add the phone to my account, but if I try to do it for the customer, it gives the message that it has to be taken to a full service store. This would defeat the whole purpose of the system upgrade and not having customer service be able to do ESN changes. It can also cost dealers money in the long run.

that is wird , also it hapen to mi I call for esn change and they tolme to wait after 20 minutes they no more esn by phone?
not iven using dealer line

Yup, $15 ESN charge on the spot. Before I think they put it on the next bill. I called this morning to refresh my mobile web and now they have it in the auto greeting that you have to go to store to do ESN changes.

Aparently, there was a problem and that is why the call center was not able to do ESN changes over the phone for dealers. One person at the call center tried to do a ESN change for us, but was unable to do so because of this problem. They hope to have everything stright by Monday. The call center will not do same day ESN changes. Dealers activating flashed phones will have to make sure it is the right ESN; othewise they will have to contact their IAM or wait until the system will allow them to do the ESN change themsleves.

Seems like it's been a while since this thread has been posted upon. Is this still a problem for everyone? Are they charging $15, not doing it at all, should I call CS or is there another option? This is really the only snag for me as I have a phone all ready to go, but I don't really want to switch phones permanently if I can't get MMS and WAP working.

EDIT: Nevermind. Anything is better than my current phone, but I would like to know the best way to go about this.
