anyone else seeing problems with flashed phones not being able to access the internet due to Cricket's migration from Motricity to Clearmode?

Just about every flashed phone in Memphis does it now, Anyone else having this issue?

ive seen a couple of phones here in tucson give me a bit of problems but some how the fix them self. i usually set the webs homepage to just homepage and works for me

try to refresh accounts and make sure the address is good. i had this issue too on alot of the smartphones i see. moto q and wap post in the pda section.

I have exactly the same on my palm treo 755pi I had internet for long time working good, I tried to upgrade my service plan, after that i still can connect to the internet but it wont let me surf other sites than the cricket home page which is ( mycricket.clearmode.com ) instead of taking me to other sites it says that MOBILE WEB IS UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME PLEASE CHECK BACK LATER

Its mostly happening to q's and moguls. I think cricket may be testing a way to block phone models that have a history of high bandwidth usage

hii
i have the same problem with some q's and with some htc's toooo
i but i got it to working after i refresh the custmer account 1000000 time
and reflashing the phone 3 or 4 times,,, but i only saw it happen with the smart phones i dont know why .....

Well, I did some more testing with my Q9C on the HTML plan. My only problem was with CricKet's home page. With Internet Explorer, CricKet's new home page comes up fine now. If I click the weather icon or search, it comes up mobile web unavailable. But, if I refresh the page 1-3 times, it then goes as it should. Funny thing tho, using Internet Explorer, the weather page comes up but only displays the graphic, no info.

Using Iris browser, on CriCket's home page comes up fine. Clicking weather icon or search link (takes you to Google) most of the time doesn't work on first try. If I refresh page 1-3 times, then it goes. Using the Iris browser, the weather page displays fine with all data displayed. Must be an IE thing. So, I'm thinking it's something with CricKet's website causing the mobile web unavailable error, at least in my case. Refreshing page 1-3 times usually gets whatever I wanted to look at on CricKet's website. A flashed Razr was doing the same thing. Just refresh the CricKet page a couple five times & then it works. grrrrrrrrr ;)

I have no problems accessing any other websites. Just thought I'd report my findings. Hope this helps...

Yea I was getting it on a 700w but all I did was call the dealer line and tell them to add the $5 WAP plan and after that everything was a success.

You need to call cricket and tell them you want to refresh and re-activate the $5 wap plan. I do this all of the time at my store and it works like a charm.

Ok, 2 suggestions here I might try.

changoleon222: I am supposed to tell them my phone is not provisioned correctly, correct? Ok, is there any explanation I should give them as to how my phone is not provisioned correctly? Like, how do I know it's not provisioned correctly and what can I tell them to provision it correctly?

Second suggestion was: You need to call cricket and tell them you want to refresh and re-activate the $5 wap plan. I do this all of the time at my store and it works like a charm.

Maybe can try that too...

The reason you would see that on HTC phones is because most of the newer HTC's such as the Diamond, Touch Pro, Treo Pro, etc. go the original carrier's website page as the homepage.
The page that was being displayed was supposed to be redirecting you to a page that tells you that you are not subscribed to mobile web but that page was also not working correctly.

JamJam is right all phones if set to http://homepage will work, most have been set up that way forever and a day just for the fact if they change the URL etc or servers its easy to send you on over to the new site, PDA just use the new Cricket Home page posted by Jammis and or try to get it to work by useing the homepage way.

simple and yes you have to refresh them a lot i think they might not have it down right yet.

finally someone has posted info about this problem. thank you to all. i have been hunting for info about this forever. so if i change the usual homepage to "homepage" or "wap.cricket.clearmode" will the 5 dollar message stop popping up. any help would would be greatly appreciated. i work at a shop and this has been killing me ion instincts, blackberries and qs

Several phones I saw with this problem would redirect any http request for to mycricket.clearmode..... regardless of the address requested
After a call to Cricket tech support and a simple refresh of the data plan the issue was resolved. This happened on an HTC Touch & 3 or 4 Samsung Omnia schI910

I've had this problem too and been trying to figure it out ever since cricket upgraded their system a couple weeks ago. I mainly have this problem with Mogul and Q9 phones and i usually always set the homepage to google.com/m. I noticed if the phone was activated with an existing account it works fine. But if the internet was just added to the account, or a new line was just created during activation of these phones, anytime i try to load the google.com/m homepage the internet loaRAB a site called mycricket.clearmode/, something to that nature. Also the pic messaging won't work. I've tried calling and having the setting refreshed, but that hasn't fixed it... there has to be a better way then refreshing 100000 times! Maybe we need to change the dns servers?
I have a couple blackberrys with the same problem now too... I will try setting the homepages to http://homepage and see if that works.
Anyone with some insight to this problem, we value your comments!!

Ok, I have tried having my account refreshed several times that didn't work. I have put homepage as the homepage and that didn't work. I finally called Cricket again who then says "You are not on a cricket phone so it won't work ever!"

So now I'm stuck. I have a Moto Q9m and every time I try to access web it says "Subscribe $5.00". Does anyone have any other suggestions to try?

Calling Cricket apparently isn't going to work. :(

I"v had the same problem the only fix for that is to call Customer service support and get them to refresh the wap setting on the account correctly some times i call more than five times before they get it working. thats how i do it and it works for me every time i'v done over a dozen the same way.
