Cricket LG VX10K question??

Will the "how to" on the vx9900 work perfect for vx10k? If not are there any differences or another "how to"?

look for and look at the VX10k How too, there is one big Diff on it, cause if you do it how the VX9900 is you will mess up your phone, and if you dont know how to fix it you will end up with a Light up brick,.

Whatever you do--DO NOT provision the WAP tab using LG Downloader! Like Cellkeeper said--you will BRICK your phone.....

I only saw the sticky for updating firmwares. I was looking to flash it to cricket only and worry about setting up WAPs later. I have LG drivers and LG Download 1.3.6.3. Can I flash the 1040prl with LG Download?

um not to ... discourage what berry said.... BUT

u CAN edit the wap tab while doing the voyager using the 9100.dll so if u use the 9100.dll and following the 9900 tut everything will go thru smoothly

Use the dedicated vx10k drivers and the latest vx10k .DLL, courtesy of Humpa:

I just did my daughter's new Voyager and trust me--having the dedicated Voyager drivers made all the difference!

I installed the vx10k drivers and installed the LGDownload 1.3.6.3 & the vx10000.dll file and placed it in the C:\LG Electronics\LGDownload\Model folder. I opened up LG program & checked dll & selected the vx10000.dll in the tri folder. I still dont get a connection, just a pc beep every couple of seconRAB.

I just unchecked COM1 and disable LG modem in the device manager and connected as soon as I did that.

I re-enable LG modem and have the phone connected to LG download and load up the v09 bin i want to upgrade to but have unable to load port component error pop up. I've read that the current .dll file might be a problem so I'm asking if theres a solution.

Go ahead and load v09 to it and commit newb Voyager suicide. V09 is a lot more difficult to flash, it's totally locked up. I would put v08 or lower on it if you are going to upgrade it anyways.

you cant use lg download to upgrade to v09.. you need LGPST and the aproppriate dll

Well, even if I avoid upgrading v09 firmware. I still cant flash cricket PRL file because it gives the "unable to load port component".

i wouldnt worry about it since almost 99% sure u wont be able to find the vx10000 dll for it anyhwere yet.

no u dont.. lg download is what u need, read the vx1000 tutorial , it tells you exactly what to use ..your most likely making a mistake somewhere if its not working..

I have LG Download 1.3 and I have connection but I still get the same error when trying to flash the prl.
