cricket insurance sux

just to clarify, i was at a corporate Cricket when i posted that last post, well my GF she runs a cricket branded razr v3c, we go in because she "lost" it they tell us they dont have one but tell us the other 2 corporate stores, well they call up the others and both say they have them and will hold one for us. Long story short we go to both of the other stores and are told they have nothing for us as a replacement phone. So i decide to spout off whats the point in paying for insurance if you guys have nothing.

I end up getting a answer from one of them, well we cant guarantee that we'll have a replacement for you, so we get into a big ol arguement because my gf is 8 months prego and i want her to have some kinda phone since we pay for insurance, long story short after 2 days of spending 2 hours each in 3 stores, we still have no phone.

I basically told another customer they were doing the insurance sales pitch to at we left, not to waste thier time because when it comes time they wont have anything. I know my post here is rather worthless but it makes me feel better to at least get it out and let some other phone enthusiast know the issues i had here locally (Fresno).

Yeah it is pretty bad, not sure why they didn't have a replacement for you but it would've cost you $85 to get a replacement razr anyways. $50 if you didn't have a camera phone. So if you need a phone really bad I suggest you find someone w/ an old one and do an ESN swap or just activate a new service and get one of their cheapest phones

what are they supposed to do? if they don't have one they don't have one. I'm sure they offered you a substitute model, or to wait until they got more in stock.

we already knew about the 85, had the money and they still acted like punks about it. basically im just going to give her my Q and flash myself either a mogul or something else i can watch viRAB and enjoy evdo on. I'm tired of the insurance bullcrap, and i told GF to cancel that crap already its a waste of money

Its understandable if they don't have one available but the least they could do is upgrade you to a little bit better phone. Like when I had the Kyocera Slider Remix. The screen went out and when I took it to the full service Cricket store the lady wanted to have me either wait until they got more in, which she informed me that they had been on back order for over 3 months already, or place it with the Koi. Lke I said, they could at least make up for it by offering you a better phone or at least give you a discount on one. It aint our fault that we are paying for insurance to have them replace our phone when something happens to it and they can't keep their end of the deal. Luckily for me one of my neighbors works at the full service store, he jus wasn't working that day and he hooked me up with the Nokia 6265i free of charge. Point is, if they don't have the model phone that the customer neeRAB replaced, I don't think its fair for them to try and downgrade you to a cheap a** phone. At least make up for the inconvenience and upgrade to a little bit better one. Just my 2 opinion though.

they offer you the closest phone available and you will get an increase in features if there is one available. they are not going to go too far from the original phone, but it is not unheard of for you to get a substantial bump if your original phone is not available.
don't think your friend "hooked you up"; during the 4 month backorder on remixes they were giving everyone razr's or nokia's as replacements.
several people were given xcursions as a replacemant for the candid last year also.

Yeahh here in Houston every customer i sent to corporate with a Razor claim came back with a k1 since the v3c was out of stock for a while(till they came out with the v3a) they were handing out k1 for insurance claims i was like wow Lol

Sorry to hear of your trouble.
Cricket works with the insurance company (Signal) to offer replacement hanRABets at the corporate stores.
The problem is that just like anything else... stock sometimes runs out.
You can still get a replacement hanRABet from the Insurance company which is who actually replaces your hanRABet. The in-store replacement program was something that Cricket really wanted to create. That said nothing in life is perfect however the majority of customers leave with a phone in hand. I would ask for the store manager and explain that you have already attempted to get this issue resolved a couple times and what hanRABet can they substitute for the razr.

well newest update, they offered us a lower model samsung yesterday after talking to a manager, that goes for 100 less then the rzr i bought her, no i didnt take it as i was informed by him that if i took it and had another insurance claim that i could only trade it for another of the same phone...

I'm like WTF would i take a big hit like that for and never have a chance for my original phone again for? As stated by some other people in this thread its not my fault they cant keep stock i should NOT be offered something 100 dollars less and still be expected to pay 85 dollars deductable. I pay for a service that stats i will get a comparable phone not some cheap piece of crap. Anyhow i can already see that theres no real solution they are just plain out ripping people off when they dont have somethign comparable and arent willing to upgrade anything.

the insurance covers to replace with a model that has the same features. not one that has the same price. the reason for this is that all tech increases in features and decreases in price as time goes. the insurance is not an upgrade program so you get something that is the same features as what you had.
which samsung did they offer you? you should be able to get at least an r500 because of the picture quality. if they were trying to give you a siren tho, i'd tell them you want one that has the same camera resolution.

it was a siren, but when a rzr is in there store still for 269 and they want to give you a 159 phone imo thats plain bull. I understand what your stating about technology but the rzr is still the same price it always was when i bought it so i would understand replacing it with something in that same bracket, but something that much lower then telling me i can NEVER go back up to that tier again, just makes no sense whatsoever in my mind.

they probably don't have v3c anymore, sometimes they just keep the display's up for a while, but it's been discontinued and they were blowing them out at 179.99 (and still are if there is any inventory left). if they did have new v3c they can give new "A" stock as replacement when they do not have replacement "B" stock available.

edit: actually you're in CCV I can find out for you right now what is available for replacement. i'll let you know when they get back to me

yeah i just checked the corp stores in fresno/clovis do not have any new v3c left. they might still be on display, but it is not in stock.

I'm assuming this is warranty related, as that's the only way they would direct you to Motorola. Also the only reason they would direct you to Motorola is if you refused to pay the $10 shipping charge. (you're under 30 days so they won't charge the $35 deposit)

please elaborate as to why they refused to replace it. they always give a reason. typical reasons include: damage or corrosion to the charger port, signs of user modification/unauthorized repair (eg: worn/marked screws and internal parts), water damage (either moisture indicators turned red/pink or there is noticable condensation under the screen) All of these conditions are actually not covered by the warranty so they would not direct you to Motorola because Motorola would not cover it either.

Same BS I was dealt last week....
I bought my daughter a nice Nokia 6275i, (2nd year with Cricket, her b-day, time for a new phone) which I believed at the time to be the best phone Cricket had, well here we are 8 months later and the screen is cracked...
I pay the insurance every month... figured we would use it...
I go to the corporate store in Syracuse NY and get the "we don't have that phone anymore"
They tried replacing it with some cheap a$$ Samsung.... then a Kyocera once I said no way....
I told them that is not acceptable, he tells me that it is the only option....
I told him he will hear from my attorney....
He tells me talk to the insurance company (Signal)....
I talk to them at length....
I have talked to their "legal adviser" as they called him...
Calling again tomorrow for some type of answer....
I doubt this will go anywhere and I will not actually spend the money on a lawyer.
I put my daughter on Cricket for 2 reasons... not having to worry about getting that monster bill WHEN she goes over on minutes and texts and the simplicity of not having a contract, this way she would learn, if you don't pay the bill they shut it off....
Well shes been on Cricket for 2 years... its time to take the training wheels off.... if they dont take care of us, I will get whatever phone I can out of them, put it on Craigslist and she will be on Verizon the day after the phone is sold....
Cricket, you have lost a customer..... (not that you care)...

End of story...

Pj

that's exactly what i'm saying i ca post the guidlines on what they check for, but basically: screws (missing or damaged), charging port damage, cracked screens, major physical damage (minor scratches ok), moisture inticators or condensation on surfaces
