Cricket customer service is no where to be found. No answer for the past eight hours.
All I need is an ESN change in the Cricket system not from phone to phone I know how to do that.

Now I'm starting to see why I like Verizons ESN change self service webpage.

yeah... well they cut back call centers by 75% and have placed severe restrictions on customers and even dealers from calling in. it sucks but its part of the belt tightening plan for the economic situation everyone is facing right now.

i got an email today from area mngr who said they lisfted the 20 call restriction effective immedialteyl. things are runnin a bit slow though

call 611 and when you get to the menu go to change account, and add a line. All you have to do is give them a valid ESN (the one you are switching to would work fine) then press 1 to 'accept the charges'- which you wont have to pay. Then you will get to talk to someone almost instantly (at most a couple minutes) and they dont even know that you said you were gonna add a line. Tell them you want to switch your service to a new phone, and I'm sure you got the rest from there. No more long waits! :) :) :)

you can do a esn change over the phone?
they make me go to a store!

i have called a couple times and same thing. "you have to go to store!"
how do you do this?

He helped me within 5 minutes of posting.
611 was down Saturday. I needed to do another ESN so I went to a cell repair shop that I use to work at and had them do it.

I posted this because 611 was busy all weekend. I never called a store. i know a store manager and have his cell nuraber when i need things changed. I got it taken care of.

they actually did a esn swap for me last night over the phone. BUT i have been having to call the cricket corp office and ask for customer service for the last two weeks to talk to a rep for ANYTHING because if i dial 611 from my phone i have been getting all criket reps are busy please try again later. that has been going on for two weeks straight! so the work around for that is to call the corp nuraber and ask for cust service and you get to escalated service.

what I do when 611 or 1800-cricket is busy is call from my own phone and listen all the way till when they say "we are currently experinceing ....." after warRAB they ask for your social/DOB whatever then as soon as they answer I tell them "I calling from my frienRAB phone because 611 is busy and I want to open a new line. works for me

Well , I called 611, and went through their revised prompts.
I got ahold of the CSR and they did an ESN change quickly, and without a hitch.
They did ask if the phone was a flashed phone, and I answered truthfully that it was (I needed to see if their response was now different).
There was none of the previous littany of "your phone won't be able to browse, or send/receive MMS" many of us have heard for so long.
They asked if was a "fully flashed" phone, and when I said yes they told me to just do a *228 after I hung up.
Honestly, that was the fastest ESN swap I ever did.
