I currently have a Halifax Purchase Card and the interest-free period expires next month, although I still owe £300 on the card. To avoid the interest, is there anything I can do as I know the outstanding balance won't be cleared come the end of the interest-free period, and I don't want to have to pay the extortionate rate of interest for the outstanding debt. I've heard I can do some kind of balance transfer but I'm not entirely sure how it all works or how I'd go about doing it. Any advice would be greatly appeciated on the matter because I'd like to avoid any surplus payments other than what I owe, if this is possible.
