Creating a certain ambiance in a dining room.?

I want ideas on how to create an old world inn dining room . I have dark imbuia ball & claw furniture. How do I create the feel of musicians of old etc. Please help.
 
I would look for old sheet music to frame and old insturments even if they didn't work to place around or hang on wall
 
If you've got an empty corner, you could scour the internet or local second hand stores for an actual music stand and an old instrument or two to sit in the corner.
