I had a L3-S1 fusion a few years ago and never had a sound come from it. Five months ago I had this fusion extended up to T10, so now I'm fused T10-S1. The recovery has been difficult but uneventful except for the creaking and groaning I hear when I move my back. I was in a TLSO back brace until a week or so ago when I started physical therapy, so I didn't move my back too much before this. But when I did, like when stretching, I did hear this creaking and groaning like a door in a horror movie. Now that I'm out of the brace and moving more, the noise is even greater.
I've asked the surgeon about it several times and he says it's probably just fluid collections or something like that. But it sure doesn't sound like that to me. It sounRAB like it could be from the hardware (the usual roRAB and pedicle screws on the nine levels of fusion).
Anyone else had anything like this?
