I believe that the body will metabolize 1-1/4 oz of alcohol or one 12oz beer in an hour. Drink today follow the time line you'll be "clean" tomorrow. The only other way to tell, would be either a blood or urine test measuring liver functions...elevated levels could be a sign your over-doing it...Good Luck in school, be responsible, and don't leave any evidence in your room when your parents are visiting

I'll be going to college in a week....my parents want to randomly come down and urine test me for alcohol. Of course I find this to be absurd because I like to occasionaly go out and drink a few beers once in a while like any other 19 year old college student. And yes, I know they are crazy but it is something I must put up with. Anyhow, does anyone know how to pass an ethyl (ethanol) urine drug test??? I understand the alcohol is supposed to stay in your system for 80 hours (it's not a normal alcohol urine test which urine would be out in 24) with this certain type of drug test, however I have heard different stories about the truth regarding this matter. Please, if you have any advice or experience with this matter (ways to pass, amount of time it really stays in your system) please help!! Thanks :)

Your parents must have some reason for wanting to do this. Either you have a negative history with alcohol or they don't trust you for some other reason.

It's also possible that if they are paying for your college that they are simply trying to protect their investment. If you are drinking it will negatively impact your grades and performance in school. Partiers are the first to drop out, which your parents surely know, and they won't get a refund on tuition, room and board if that happens to you.

Rather than drink illegally and go through the stress and hassle of trying to pass these random drug tests, how about not drinking. Then you're guaranteed better grades and you don't have to worry about this at all.

Yeah that test can detect alcohol from the past 80 hours. I guess I would suggest drinking lots of water or just not drinking for a few days if you know they are coming. But a lot of the time parents try to just scare their kids and never really give them the test. Just remember... your 19 which mean legally they have no control over you anymore!
