hi again karen. the one really HUGE thing that you need to keep in mind when you have ANYTHING at all that is really impacting that spinal cord is perceptionary crap. this is a constant with me with having 'feelings' of things or honestly feeling like certain things are actually being 'done" to a particular body part? this is very different from 'just' the parasthesias you can get from nerve compromise like within the spinal column? it just 'feels like' things, very distinctive 'things' are either happening or being done to you somehwere. and yes it is very insane and off the wall but this IS cord involvment and or direct damage.
before my actual cavernonma was removed from my spinal cord i felt or percieved this insane thing that felt like, honest to god, that someone was behind me and trying to actually pry off my entire shoulderblade with a pry bar or something. that just was the EXACT feeling or perception i had 24/7. it was an actual prying/lifting sensation that would not stop unless i forced that whole shoulder blade into a solid wall and just held it there, kind of 'pushing it back? this was also accompanied with a TON of pressure behind that blade that was also constantly 'pushing out' there too. it was just a really nasty feeling. my surgery finally got rid of that nightmare but actually left me with a much more insane one to have to deal with. but that is just one example of how truely off the wall and "percetionary' the types of sensation/noxious stimuli can be with ANYTHING that is in or severely compromising your cord area. that cyst IS pressure and compression on the cord itself, so honestly, anything would be possible to actually 'feel' or simply 'percieve" is going on inside your body. i should have mentioned this to you before. just keep track like in a notebook on anything that you feel along the way, some types of sensation and or perception can just really be a good solid type of symptom that can help your neuro to better define certain things when it comes to cord involvement.
sorry you are having to deal with all this crap hon. please let me know how things are continuing to go for you. Marcia
