my puppy has developed a habit of whining in her crate, and I cant bear to listen to her whine and cry and scream ( YES SCREAM LIKE A BABY! ) for more than a few minutes, and I have to go running to her!

yesterday my bf held me down and wouldnt let me go to her for about 40min, she didn't stop ! I couldnt take it and went to her and took her to bed with me, again.

I need her to get trained so I can go out to the shop every once in a while!

People say ignore her and she will stop, has anyone tried that?

Does ignoring really work?
+ she eats good i take her out for potty breaks

+ these problems are only at night, during the day when she is crated everything is dandy

she'd learned if she keeps whining you'll come save her. it takes a while but you have to ignore her. i put my kennel in my bedroom so she was closer to us, still whined for a while though. also you can sleep in an old t-shirt and put that in her kennel, it might help. also people have used the wind up alarm clocks, the ticking reminds them of being with mom so this might help as well. as suggested already a nice long walk and playtime to help tire her out.

my dog lately has been barking when we put him in his crate either at night or if we're going out!
I accually posted a question on here about that yesturday, I was told as much as its painfull, let them cry and don't take them out of the crate because it'll encourage the behavior.
I know their like a kid and you feel terrible for leaving them, try putting treats in there or one of its favorite toys. Mine goes in and out of his crate when we're here too
Good Luck

oh my gosh i have the same problem!! i think you have to ignore them im trying it now to see if it works or what!!! good luck!! good luck to me too!!

you should feed her and give her a nice loooong walk right before bedtime that way she would be to tiered to whine and what not. i dont know it was what i was told to do.
