Why the hell are these death traps allowed into the UK or any country for that matter? I have heard so many stories re these machines so how can they be let in? Are they not approved before entry? Or as a whole are bike models not approved?
 
Good question!

This is allowed because of loose trade agreements with China, and poor quality control. Many Chinese businessmen are very unscrupulous, and just care if it will run when it hits the shores. Honda, and Yamaha know this, and they have tight restrictions on quality control. Under these conditions, the Chinese make an excellent product.

I would not say all Chinese scooters are death traps, because if it doesn't move, it cannot hurt you.

You want a scooter to last? buy Japanese!
