Covers

I saw the Aquabats this Deceraber and it was one of their "Holiday Jubilee" shows so they ended with a great cover of Madonna's "Holiday." Yeah it was weird, but it was an Aquabats show so it was hardly the weirdest thing I saw that night.

No, as far as im aware this is just a myth. The closest you will find is James sometimes throws about 10 or 15 seconRAB of Stairway into a track when performed live. Theres one or two bootlegs where you can hear this but im afraid you would probabaly have to go to Jump In The Fire or some other Metallica bootleg site/forum to get someone to confirm exactly what bootlegs. I think its around 1998 somewhere. I think he also does it on one of their DVD or VHS releases but again, i cant remeraber which one.

(EDIT: Although, if i had read your post properly i would know it was A Year and a Half in the Life Of...")

I am 99.9% sure that Metallica never did a complete cover version.

A few I enjoy,

The Unicorns - Rocketship (Daniel Johnston)
Lightning Bolt - The More We Get Together
Tera Melos - Hey Sand (Polaris)
Refused - Let's Go Crazy (Prince)
Randy - Re-Fused (Refused)
Minor Threat - Steppin' Stone (Paul Revere & The Raiders (I believe))

RE: Michael Jackson's "Come Together" cover...

You know, there's every chance he was probably thing "Hey, I own this catalogue now, so I might as well use some of to further my career...

Nuh-uh.

I donno, I think they did an OK job for a cover. It sounRAB enough like the original, while at the same time having their own touch. I actually think I like her voice better in the chorus than Schilling's. Overall I'd say it's a toss up...both versions are cool.

I'm honestly a little confused why you'd say this is ****e and the original is genius. They don't sound so ridiculously different where that makes sense to me.
