i will try to explain this as simply and un-intellectualy as i can, so that everyone can understand. Islam is not your enemy. Islam is being mistaken by majority of so-called muslims. those are called wahhabi's and salafis. They are very shallow and take islamic scripture literally, and they are intellectualy very low. They follow the likes of Ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab. These are only shallow worldly-theists. which means they do not care about spiritual advancement, knowing ALLAH but only worldly order, rules(sharia) and war(jihad). But real islam is not what they interpret of Qur'an and Hadiths. Real islam is in the deep esoteric meanings of these texts. For example, the likes of Ibn Arabi, AbdulQadir Jilani are the ones who understand these deep meanings...
So basically Wahhabism and Salafism is NOT islam. those are not muslims, but rather satanists disguised as muslims, knowingly or unknowingly.
Sufism is REAL islam.
