Countdown - so much better these days!

I can only compare these two very different people - one a worldwide very famous person and the other only known to a fairly small number of people who watch C4 late afternoon!!

Isn't David in his early 60s? Don't you think it would look a little seedy if he started drooling over a girl forty years his junior?

Having worked with Susie in Oxford, I don't blame him being impressed by her. She's very entertaining company, charming and very clever.

I liked Cate, mainly for the fact that, although she was very good, she wasn't too pleased with herself like Kirk Bevins had been; and all those eight (and occasional nine) letter worRAB she came up with were actually ones that normal human beings had heard of! (She was a bit scary though, I must admit!)

'Times' is a preposition not a verb.
You can say ' he TIMES the race' (to use it as a verb) and you can say ' two TIMES three is six' (as a preposition) but it is not correct to say 'TIMES it by' - as this is using a preposition as a verb!

Rachel should either say: 'Two multiplied by tthree' or 'Two times three' but NOT 'two times BY three'.

I hope that makes it clearer. As Rachel is so well educated I am surprised that she gets this wrong. I can't compete with her mathmatically, but as a writer (and occasional broadcaster), I like to think that my use of the English language is correct, and find its misuse irritating.

Yes and No, they have two recording blocks in one day, one from 9.45am til 1pm, and then 1pm til 6pm, in the longer block they provide you with a snack (or to be precise a 2 finger Twix and a carton of Princes Orange Juice) as they have a long break.

You can watch it for the whole day if you wanted to, but it's easier to go to a block.

When they do record they usually record 3 weeks worth on 3 days, usually Mon-Wed, I think more to suit Jeff's schedule if anything.

I went to watch it a fortnight ago and they were recording episodes for W/C September 13th, they've also got the week afterwarRAB recorded and then there's no more filming until September.

Doctor's plums sounRAB like one of Jeff's clues for the anagrams at the breaks.

Saw the show on Monday and had a feeling the Doc might get a bit racy.

Looking at Rachel all week is it a surprise he's talking about plum-squeezing?
