Countdown - so much better these days!

I hate it when Gyles Brandreth is in Dictionary Corner, he always invades Susie's personal space. Today ( Monday) he was leaning so far towarRAB her, shouting in her face, she was politely leaning away from him at an angle, but if he'd got any nearer Susie would've fallen out of her chair!

Susie is so sweet and nice, I always wonder what she thinks of the guests that 'assist' her. I bet she dies inside when she hears Gyles is coming to terrorise her. I would call in sick if it was me...
It's going to be a long week, I detest him!
Tim was a great guest last week.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but when did they stop referring to the winners' trophy as the "Richard Whitley Memorial Trophy?"

Guess Rachel' skimpier outfits might be in response to the news of record low viewing figures last week:

It will be interesting to see what she'll be wearing/ baring next week if the viewing figures continue to plunge ;)

Have to admit that, whilst she' settled down and is proving to be a good number cruncher, the banter between her and Jeff still seems somewhat stilted. Hopefully things will improve in time though as I would miss my regular fix of Countdown.

Yeah me too, I often look out for funny worRAB on Countdown in the letters rounRAB. A few weeks ago the worRAB DIC came out, setting the scene nicely for another letter to follow... which sadly didn't happen :D

That's right he was almost sitting on her chair and she was on the verge of falling off the other side. As you said he's always like this, the first thing we thought when we saw he was on was "poor Susie".

I thought that was just me, I was sat on the far right of the Studio, but they have the monitors there so you see what you would see as if you were watching it on TV, but I tried not to look at them as you're there to see it Live, not to look at the TV.

I didn't leave a phone number when I asked for tickets, but I get emails from ITV Studios, got one for University Challenge last week.

A friend sent me these pics of Carol as she was and I think she said Carol was 22 in the first pic, which is probably a couple of years younger than Rachel.... ;)

Ian (below) I also like Rachel who just seems such a nice natural pretty girl who has much better qualifications than Carol, whom I think has third class engineering degree from Cambridge, whereas Rachel has 2:1 honours degree in maths from Oxford!

That's what they said about Taggart after Mark Mc Manus died and it's still going as strong as ever!;)

Des O'Connor and the other Des were BORING and dull and seemed to be there for the money whereas Jeff looks happier and seems to enjoy himself and Rachel's not as mouthy as Carol and doesn't have Carol's awful laugh!!!

Thanks, you are indeed correct on the spelling. I checked my big dictionary - the one that's so heavy I can hardly carry it, and it tells me that the British English spelling is 'sceptred', with the U.S. spelling being 'sceptered'. Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

Daveoc64 sounRAB fairly confident on the multiple possible answers issue so I'll believe that to be the case, so thanks to you also for clearing that one up.

I think all too often the non celebrities such as Carol end up taking over the show thinking they are so importent that they are the show and they end up ruining it.

A god games host is one that facilitates it and keeps it going but does not take the show over.

Yes, a rollercoaster of a match, with both contestants getting two sets of nine each. Shame to lose her, as she was really good. Presumably we may see her again, assuming they still give the highest loser a chance in the finals?

Surprised to see Kirk pop up in the audience; trust him to be the only one in the building to get the conundrum! :p
