Countdown - so much better these days!

I was pleased with myself yesterday, when I got the conundrum as fast as he did.

And today, when he offered SEAHORSE and was turned down, I had correctly picked out SEASHORE!

I am smarter and than 14 year old!

Well, twice, anyway!

He's brilliant though. Him and the guy who was the octochamp just before he started are going to make for a great match, if they meet in the finals.

The revolting Gaunt is due in the High Court on June 15.

He is on a charm offensive to that end.

He appeared almost human at times - sadly for him he fools precisely nobody except the sheeplike, illiterate reactionaries who make up approx. 99% of his followers - and for whom a word/numeracy game is just a step too far.

Agreed!

His story of how he proposed to his fiance Debbie King on stage at the end of his final show of A Night at the Opera at the London Palladium was one of the most cringeworthy things I've ever heard on telly.

He ended up by saying something to the effect of if she'd said no, at least there'd have been plenty of other women in the audience that would have taken her place!

Pr*ck!!

The title of this thread is so funny. I am tempted to believe that it is intended as a wind up.
The programme has gone down market BIG TIME !
A football head for chairman whose humour enRAB at football jokes. "I missed the moon landing on TV, Sunderland were playing at home that day" Ho Ho Ho
Sportsmen and reality TV type persons as guest talking about themselves and their careers where there used to be actors with humorous contributions to make.
A letters lady who looks pretty tasty but seems not to have heard of anything or anybody in the field of music or literature.
Even the contestants don't seem to do as well, perhaps they are scraping the barrel because people have lost interest.
I still like the game and will continue to watch, shouting "bu**** off" at the telly at regular intervals

not a beauty contest or a fashion contest but you dont like her because she is a Man U fan?
you like carol as she was from North wales
Dont like Rachel having a personality.

biggest hypocrite in the world. ^^^^^

I agree with Oddbod. I don't see a problem with Rachel on Countdown at all.

I don't understand the criticism that Rachel has received for having no personality or experience especially since Carol Vorderman had none to start with.

And let's face it, if the UK find it acceptable to have a stand-up comedian with no journalistic experience doing a news-oriented breakfast show on BBC Newcastle, and find it OK for someone like Sinitta to be a advisor on X Factor, then I don't know why Rachel is the one receiving criticism for taking a dream job with no experience herself.

I think it's terrible that Countdown isn't on for a few weeks, they don't need a holiday as they film so many shows in a day!

Meanwhile the mind numbingly boring "Deal or no deal" continues to be shown and even has Saturday editions.

Oh come on Richard, if the strange haircuts and creased up teeshirts drive you nuts, there's always Rachel's dresses to look at! :p

I love the fact that Countdown gives everyone an equal shot of all ages and abilities - including high functioning, with photographic memories. Better than endless, 5 or 6 letter rounRAB.

Jeff's brilliant with people and draws them out, no matter how socially difficult they find it. There've been people with a physical impairments as well as other conditions on the autistic spectrum. It also reminRAB people who may be quick to "label" someone, that just because they sound different or speak slowly, you can still have a brain like a mountain! :D

Have to agree Rachel Riley looked stunning in those short dresses she had on, what a great set of pins she is certainly getting much better now. And the mention of losing viewers nah can't be true with a stunner like Rachel on the show make anyone tune in and not concetrate on the game:rolleyes:

Very pleased that the champion got beaten today; especially as he was so desperate to win that he pressed the buzzer in the final round, on 29 seconRAB, and make a ridiculous guess at the conundrum.

Definitely one of the most annoying contestants of recent times.
