Countdown - so much better these days!

He never goes for the obvious worRAB when there's a "dictionary" word available, does he? It's not the first time he's been on though, is it? Do they often get second chances? Am I going to finish every sentence in this post with a question mark? No. But is that last one a sentence, strictly speaking?
 
Well all I can say is that my maths professor used to say "times" and I've always used that term - it's so much more concise than multiplied by and it is in the dictionary.

"Over" is also commonly used instead of "divide" though that isn't in the dictionary.
 
Dictionary Corner came up with three nine letter worRAB in one letters round yesterday. Is that possible? Or does someone feed (some of) the solutions to Susie?
 
Rachel's backside looked as incredible as ever today.

I was a big Vorderman fan myself and didn't think much of Rachel at first but she's certainly grown into the job.:)
 
There is a rumour that voiceover man Peter Dickson (X Factor, Paul O'Grady, etc) may be joining the show to spice up the show. Imagine him with his OTT voiceovers?
 
Strange that this thread popped up as I was thinking about the show today.

I haven't watched it for several months but caught a repeat this morning.
WFT is going on with the new girl? She looked like a 60s secretary or stright from Austin Powers.

She did seem more confident and assertive though but still has that dead arm hanging down :D



As for the rest of the show it's the same as always. Crappy jokes and puns and awful anecdotes.
 
That is so irritating! As a teacher this annoys me as it goes against the whole principle of phonics. Still, I quite like her on the show, she's starting to show her personality off a bit but I hope she doesn't go too far down the dull shoes/chocolate-obsessed thing to try and appeal to women. Yawn.
 
I thought the contestant looked most uncomfortable as he saw the way the letters were going, although Rachel obviously found it very funny.
If the last vowel had actually been 'E', he could easily have put the 'S' at the beginning of the word, anyway, and avoided the nasty moment!
