Countdown - so much better these days!

I have every faith in Jeff, he seems to really enjoy it - something I wasn't convinced of, with Des squared! He's relaxed and easygoing, and gets the humour just right imo. Heck even my 85 year old MIL, who had no idea who he was, has taken to him. Took Rachel longer, but she's finally settled in and mostly gets the numbers now. Personally find it a very watchable 40 minutes.

I bet Rachel's pleased her dresses are having the desired effect. She started off in fairly mumsy dresses, but apparently wanted her own style. So had a bit of a splurge on new dresses for the show; might be wrong, but I think her pink number today was the first one she's worn twice!
 
I'm not a football fan either but quite enjoy Jeff's football references. Maybe I'm just glad not to have Des O talking about his recorRAB all the time...
 
I don't see how anyone could think this is better.

She's useless at just about everything and he's a wooden puppet.

The show is totally devoid of any character now. He just says the same thing over and over with his cheesy grin (you need a sick bag) and she treats the contestants like idiots.

Des Lynam was better!

I didn't particularly like Carol or Des O'Connor, but they had really made the show work well.
 
I also watch it every day now or record it to watch later if I am out! It's tons better now and I never liked either Des on the show and disliked Carol once she'd become too full of herself after her makeovers and after Richard's death!

It's much better now with Rachel and the legend Jeff! :cool:
 
My hubby just adores Rachel (her body anyway):rolleyes:
But I must admit, even as a married hetrosexual woman she is quite hot and has brains too which is refreshing :)
I love the cute outfits she wears, some are highstreet.

Geez glad Tim Vines gone. Couldnt stand any more of his so called 'jokes' . He must be the worst comic on the circuit. Even he seems embarrassed telling them!! Rubbing off on Jeff too. He tries to a funny like Richard Whiteley but it doesnt work somehow. His banter between himself and Rachel seems forced and they often talk over each other so the joke is lost. Cant they take a summer break and give us a rest. Put something else on, but not Come dine with me :)
 
I still like Countdown mainly for the sake of the game itself. It has definitely lost something since Jeff and Rachel took over. The guests don't seem as good generally either.
I don't know what to make of young Mr Vine. I can't make my mind up whether I like him or not. There are a lot worse than him I suppose. :D
