Countdown - so much better these days!

They're getting some surprising guests aren't they? I'm not saying Martin Lewis is not a good choice, but I bet no one would have guessed he would be a DC guest.

Question: Have you noticed that since Jeff and Rachel took over, A good few of the Dictionary Corner guests from the Richard/the 2 Deses and Carol's era have dissapeared on the show. Wonder who has had the choice of guests?

If you think about it, it's probably the right way to pronounce it. It is a two syllable word, after all! It's us that say it wrong, dropping the 'e'.

Wow what can I say, Rachel has become one of the sexiest women on tv.
I used to drool over Carol V but Rachel just takes my breath away.
And with that little lemon dress I think I need to lie down:p:p:p

I only used to watch occasionally when Carol was on but did think that after Richard Whiteley's sad death Carol seemed to think it was her show and was too full of her own importance. Since Jeff and Rachel have taken over I am a devoted fan and haven't missed any shows. I think they are ideal and every show is entertaining. Rachel certainly has brains AND beauty.

Jeff has really grown on me, I love that he takes part and comes up with word suggestions from time to time.

Rachel's nice and seems to have settled well. I still think she's not solving the amount of numbers games she ought to be, but am happy to give her more time to see if she gets better.

Dictionary corner wise, Alistair Stewart should be banned. He never credits Susie with getting the long worRAB, always saying 'we got' etc. And he's so bloody patronising.

Contestant wise, I cannot bear that Chris bloke. I say bloke, it took me a while to figure it out. I really thought that no contestant could possibly outsmug Kirk Bevans from the last series, but Chris can. He smirks/gives a smug smile when the other contestant has 6 letters for example, and Chris has 7. And he's another who comes up with poncey worRAB rather than normal ones - e.g. why say 'rosacea' when 'corners' will do? He's hideous, and having fast forwarded much of the last 3 shows, not sure I can be bothered to watch again until he's gone. He really makes me want to barf.

There's a quote from 'Knowing Me, Knowing You' where Alan is interviewing a chil prodigy. After being outsmarted by the youngster, Alan turns to the kid's father and says:

''John, John, do you ever sit alone at night by the fire, with your head in your hanRAB and think to yourself, "God have mercy on my soul, I have spawned a monster!"

Expect the total opposite tomorrow! I was in the recording for yesterdays/today's/tomorrow's episode, the contestants usually sit in the audience when it isn't their episode.
