Countdown - so much better these days!

I was just watching Countdown and realise just how much better it is these days and both presenters are brilliant, especially the legendary Jeff! Rachel seems very sweet and has become used to being on TV and is now solving the numbers games with ease too.

The show had ceased to interest me with boring Des and Des also Carol Vorderman who had become too big for her boots and tried to take over after the lovely Richard had passed away!

I looked for the old thread but couldn't find it so started another to say how good Countdown now is!

It made a nice change for a young, male octochamp (is there any other kind of octochamp nowadays?) to come across as being so well-adjusted and normal as Jeffery was. He wasn't overly competitive or constantly submitting worRAB no-one had heard of before either.

Actually, did he break the 100-point mark even once? I don't think so anyway. He did well to become an octochamp at all really. Fair play to him!

Tim Vine is excellent too.

Pudenda(s) ( can it be pluralised ? ) was a 7/8 letter option in one of yesterday's selections but I think Suzi was too embarrassed to highlight it and describe its meaning.

I was 2nd row from the back, other than the board I had a near perfect view, but that didn't put me off. Although I learnt where they stuck the Conundrum board, I couldn't even see that! I managed to walk onto the floor when the recording ended for the day and the set is quite something, very blue and feels far smaller than what you see on TV.

And there was me convinced that The Young Ones had it spot on!

I agree Jeffery was very pleasant, down to earth and well mannered. I look forward too seeing him back later in the year. I am sure he will do very well at Oxford.

Jeffery didn't get break the 100 point mark but he didn't need too.

I think most of us will probably agree that one thing definitely in Jeff's favour is that he doesn't say 'okey doke' at the end of every round!

But if they axe Countdown then are they really going to find something better to replace it? The last thing we need is more repeats of A Place in the Sun...

I finally got a "numbers game" answer today. Not bad after twenty odd years of occasional viewing.

Though to be honest I'm far more interested in Rachel Riley. Terrible, tarty dress sense, big boobs, a nice bum, ridiculous hairstyle and rather ungainly. What a woman! :D

If you mean me - I wasn't criticising Rachel. Merely expressing surprise that she took so long to get a numbers game I thought was easy. And which I subsequently found was only easy because I'd got the maths wrong.
