Could your clothes get tighter before they get looser as a result of gym everyday?

I do resistance training every second day along with about half hour of cardio, then on the other days I do an hour of cardio. I watch my diet. After 2-3 weeks my jeans are tighter...This is discouraging as I want to be smaller so badly! My waist is shrinking and my arms have more definition, by my jeans are tighter on my thighs and backside. I only do two swiss ball exercises for my lower body - the rest of resistance is my upper body and abs. However most of my cardio is the cross trainer and bike. I don't run. If I keep going as I am, will my jeans eventually get looser? I like working hard at it, I just want to make sure I'm heading in the right direction.
Also, how long do you think it will take till I start shrinking? - if I ever will!

I'm 5'8 and 65 kg
