if there were a secret you knew
if there were a secret
you wanted to erase
make it go away
sometimes when the deep within me swells, i listen try to the heartbeat that once was yours, in the old stuck frames of a past, ink black paint over canvas, taking away the light of my new days. your old heartbeat- I listened for it in the music box with the golden star, the swing set on Winston Avenue, in a fortune for my take out. I can never find you, I can't feel again your heavy chest against me while your old heartbeat swallows me whole, taking me in and summoning the part of the evening where i contemplate yesterday, and hold the night with such shaky hands the stars blur and rattle; the bottle in your good hand is pulling me away from you, it's contents raging like a silent storm from such swaggering arms, and we're pulled apart like a wishbone
I am really trying to find feedback so tear it apart if you want, what could be better, what is good about it, anything at all. thank you!
