Could you explain the difference to me between Islamic beliefs and Islamic culture?

I live amongst a large community of peaceful Muslims in Northern England and have never felt that my way of life is being threatened.

(I am not a Christian)

But i have noticed that when anything abhorrent is done in the name of Islam muslims blame it on the culture not on the religion.

Is this an excuse or is it true

for Example

Honor killings
Suicide bombers
female circumcision
women as property or second class citizens
constant pressure on vulnerable people to convert.
and many many more

Islam is encompassed in the Qur'an, however most follow man made hadith which has a lot of local culture and pagan rituals in it.
