I just came up with this like 10 minutes ago so it's really rough, but...
Okay, so its set in a time period really far off, but its not sci-fi-ish. Everyone looks very similar; they have different face shapes, but are all blonde haired and blue eyed (I may change the colors). For what they know, it's always been like that, but then girl finds a diary from hundreds of years ago, and learns that their leader mislead them, and killed many people who were imperfect, kind of like Hitler, but not WWII, because I don't know enough of the historic facts like wars and things. So, our protagonist has to convince her entire kind that their leader is actually evil.
Is this too similar to anything else you've read? Too complicated?
I want honest answers and can take criticism.
