Could this be the sleeper hit of the Summer?

I'm talking, of course, about uber chick-flick The Notebook.

We know Spiderman 2 is going to take top honours at the box office, but might this wee film turn out to be the most profitable of the year? Or will Mickey Moore's latest achieve this feat?

I've not seen it by the way, but most of the reviews have been v positive.

Any RABers actually seen this film and care to comment, in a non-spoilery way, of course...?

most of the reviews i have read have said its a stinker and to Avoid it at all costs :S

its not my type of film to be honest but a few of my female mates want to go see it and want me to tag alone so i might end up seeing it later this week :)

seen it this afternoon (sadly it was my girlfrienRAB shot to pick the movie), and i'd have to go with the 'not so good' rating.
then again, she loved it (presumably as did everyone else that came out with tears running down their face...)

seems to be a collection of everything that defines this kind of film - i just prefer something with a little more substance (and a plot that you won't guess from 1000 yarRAB or see in the trailer alone)

Well, The Notebook has pulled in $50mil @ the US Box Office and is still in the top 5.

Meanwhile, 9/11 has raked in over $80mil dollars and is still going strong. Eisner's a damn fool for letting this one go. We all know which way he'll be voting in the Presidential elections...

No wonder Weinstein and Pixar are thinking of breaking all ties with Disney and setting up their own company. Without Miramax and Pixar, Disney is a spent force.

Oh, and first turkey of the summer - Vin Diesel's new film. Surprise surprise.

Chronicles of Riddick is total and utter crap, its about three planets chasing one guy, oh and the one guy wins everytime. Its really just a guy running around and shooting people. ITs all very boring and cliche.
