Could this be symptoms of a Blood clot in calf?

Hi there, anyone who has had a blood clot in calf and can give me some advice I'd appreciate it.

For the past 2 mornings/2 full days I have had a pain on my calf - it is about 4-5 inches below my knee on the front outside of the leg (between shin and outer side of leg), an area of about 1.5inch diameter. It feels like I've smacked it hard on something and it is bruised...not when i move it, but when i touch it. Something as soft as a my pants brushing against it is quite sore, or if i run my hand over it...if i poke it naturally its even more sore. This pain is not excruciating, but it doesn't feel normal that to touch the area feels like jabbing my finger into a bruise....yet there is no bruise, nothing to see at all, and I do not remember hitting it (and I don't drink so that's not clouding my memory!). Tonight I think I can feel a lump/ridge there but its not noticeable unless i press my fingers in.

The pain bothers me more first thing in the morning - laying on that side really hurts, but as the day goes on I only feel it when something touches it. Is this the type of symptom that could be a DVT? Somebody said it could be so now I'm a little concerned....I am obese, and have been dehydrated in the last few weeks (not drinking enough) and have had a couple of leg cramps during the night in that leg, not in the last week though. I do fly 1hr trips every couple of weeks. I did spend a lot of time on the computer working this past weekend and a 4hr return drive to town to go shopping.

Also not sure if this is related, but on Sunday (day before pain noticed) I did a lot of cleaning/active stuff, then later that night when I was working at the computer I fairly suddenly got very dizzy/lightheaded and nauseous, which I don't get normally. It was quite bad - I was spinning in bed when I went...and then I woke up Monday with a killer headache and the sore calf (but the calf was fairly dull compared to the headache/dizzy/nausea I had all day so I didn't think about it too much). Today the calf feels worse, but could be cos I'm not on painkillers today, or I don't have a slamming head etc to distract me.

Sorry for the long post....but does this sound 'blood clot-ish' to anyone? I am going to wait until tomorrow morning and see how it feels before I go to a doctor (really difficult for me to go to doc. - small remote town with irregular doc at hospital so it could end up being a big saga if I have to get it looked at so want to make sure it is symptomatic and not all in my head...).

They usually say if you can put your hand over it and squeeze it, it isn't a clot. But with your history I don't know what your waiting for. Get it checked now!
