Could these side effects be from Toprol?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm 30 years old and have suffered from PVC's since I was 18. At that time I was put on Digoxin which I have been on ever since. About 5 years ago I was also put on Toprol. Last year I started experiencing alot of weird things - fatigue, lack of sex drive, shakiness, weird sensations after eating (almost like I was hungrier then before I ate), feeling like I'm jumping out of my skin etc. The doctor took my off the generic toprol and wrote the Rx D.A.W. That helped too a good degree, not with everything. Now in the last month all of the side effects have returned. After eating, my heart rate dips into the 50's and I get shaky and tired. Its a very hard sensation to describe, but I just feel weird. It's very hard to get through the day at work. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is it toprol related?

I took Toprol for 30 days before I stopped. I experiencing what I can only describe as electrical shocks in my head. My prescription was Toprol XL. Your symptoms sound like what a diabetic would feel if their blood sugar dropped to low. I know with the new medication I was given in place of Toprol, (Nadadol) I needed to take half the prescribed dose in the morning and the other half at night. These medications are used to not only control your heart rate, but they are also used to lower blood pressure. My blood pressure historically is always low, so by taking a full dose of this medication, my pressure would drop to 85 over 50. It took my body a long time to get accustomed to this medication. I actually weaned myself off this medication because I found that while it controlled my heart rate, I subsequently developed a secondary arrythmia.
I suggest you contact your doctor and request a different medication.
