Unfortunately HD is a pure luxury item and will be the first(including quads,jet-skis and so fourth) to suffer. Due to the unknown certainty of the current economic climate it can go either way. However there will always be spare-parts available and more than likely service faculties available. Gloomy question, lets hope it never happens.

The reality is that I doubt there is any manufacturer or business that the US economy can't sink. Hopefully, the so called stimulus is really a stimulus and not just a government power grab of private industry.

HD's 2008, 4th qtr sales were down 19.6%
That's a 58.2% 4th qtr net income loss, down $108.3 million from 2007 levels.
Bike production in 2009 will be down 13% to 265,000 units
HD will eliminate 1100 jobs
Harley-Davidson Financial Services ( HDFS ) posted a massive $24.9 million 4th qtr loss
30% of the Co's loan portfolio is subprime
5% of the loans were delinquent more than 30 days in 2008
Then WHY do the HD Dealers still snub me when I walk into the dealership?
Why are they not desperate?
Why can't they just pretend to be friendly and treat me with respect?

Harley makes the majority of it's money from merchandise so I doubt it will close it's doors anytime soon. However it might be your attitude when you walk into the dealerships that causes them to "snub" you. Respect is a two way street and you must show respect if you want to receive respect.

cause you are a piece of crap thats why, your posts are getting old kid. go ride your skateboard. And oh yea H.D. doesnt need to sell bikes to make money, they make plenty off the officially licened junk people buy.T shirts, bumper stickers, mugs.jewelery, toys, hell they even make a phone! Your the type of poser who buys that stuff
