could someone tell me some fabrics used for sports wear?

fabrics that are a little thick and slightly stretchable ( its hard to sew my collection in very soft and really stretchy material). would really appreciate it...thankuuuuuu

Well, there's lycra, which is used in wetsuits (i think) and there's spandex.
