...preferably as a sub-plot? Elements of fantasy and adventure are good too. Much appreciated XD
 
You should read Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, its a trilogy but the 3rd book isnt released yet.
it has adventure and romance and its really good!

There's also the Uglies series by scott westerfeld its kinda sci-fi with romance. I also have those ebooks if you want them.
