Could someone please explain the basics of the stuff going on in Mexico?

With the drug cartels and the shootings, etc.

today my spanish teacher said that the "feds", who carry machine guns, will search your car and plant a small bag of marijuana or other drugs, and then jail you (or take your car). so are "feds" the official (but corrupt) military? or are they people from the drug cartels???

sorry im so confused!!!
 
Your Spanish teacher is very smart.You should get a good grade in that class. Did your teacher tell you that in Spanish?When I was in school my Spanish teacher taught us how to speak Spanish.
