Could someone help me on what's going on with the health care debate?

It's not about Health insurance, it's about the government takeover of 1/6th of our economy and destruction of the best health system in the world today.
The economic welfare of those who spent years learning the medical art because they had a calling and the talents to do this will be the cause of fewer and fewer people entering this field. And, in fact, some doctors have already made the decision not to practice anymore. The handwriting is on the wall..
Long waiting periods to see fewer and fewer doctors and months of pain before finally getting treatments. That's if you survive to get treatment. For instance, many will die because of the long wait for breast cancer treatment or the denial of expensive treatments or expensive medication. Or the denial of expensive medication for whatever the ailment may be. For instance, homosexual are prone to getting the aides virus. It's medication, too, will be too expensive
The destruction of our health insurance entities.
The restrictions on health care to our senior citizens and others, and a death panel to decide who gets health care and who does not get health care.
Rationing of health care.
Economic stagnation.
Pharmaceutical and medical research and development of new medicines, vaccines and new operating procedures will cease.
The quadrupling of our national debt. (T) as in trillion$ of dollar$.
The destruction of our capitalist society and the assuring of a promised new society (Communism).
When this bill comes through for this, my friend, then you will be forced to pay for it.
For those who don't know or haven't experienced Communism, recommended reading is the "Communist Manifesto," (bad) and "The 5000 year leap (good).."
Also, highly recommended: "Common Sense." Two different related books by different authors.
