When I was younger, I remember seeing a drama on Ch 18 at 7 pm in Chinese. When I traveled to China 4 years ago when I was 12, I also saw this on TV. This is just to provide an estimate of the age.
Here are the details I remember:
Two protagonists: One man with long brown hair, and the other with black hair.
Other characters:
A girl who dies at the end after giving a blood transfusion to the brown haired man to end his bloodlust.
A powerful antagonist whom the two protagonists fight at the end. The brown haired man is choked and raised up from the floor and nearly killed, when the black haired man kills the antagonist.
In Chinese, the character "muo" was used quite often in this show. I distinctly remember the Chinese character in a cave filled with blood. The brown haired man would go into a bloodlust, but deemed it necessary to fight evil.
I am not so sure on this detail, as it may have been from another: An evil king with two sons, the older of which kills him at the end. The mother is sympathetic to the brown haired protagonist and is "good",
The overall genre of this was fighting and mystical magic. The only thing I can remember in a fight scene was a huge magic extension of their sword, slashing downwards.
It would be a huge help if anyone could remember a name...I would like to watch it again.
