Could my wireless router slow down my internet connection that it puts out to

wireless devices ? My download speed is 3Megs but i don't think my devices that are receiving the connection, are getting that, especially my PS3, cause im lagging a lot
My router is a Linksys wireless G Basic
Bought it at walmart for 50 dollars
